Rider Information

Booking

When booking your first lesson you will be asked for your name, telephone number, height, weight and any previous riding experience, this will enable us to make sure you are riding a suitable horse or pony for your lesson.  If you have any special needs or medical requirements you will also need to discuss these at this point so we can make sure we meet all health and safety requirements.  You will be asked to pay for your lesson at point of booking and our cancellation policy will apply to all bookings made.

Clothing

If you have not ridden before, wear comfortable leggings or loose fitting jeans, long sleeved top, flat shoes (they must have a small heel). Riding hats can be borrowed from the centre. However, after your first few lessons, it is a good idea to purchase your own hat which should be to a minimum standard P.A.S. 015.  It is also advisable to purchase proper riding boots & a body protector for jumping.  To avoid loss or personal injury, rings and earrings should not be worn during your lesson.

We advise that all visitors to the centre whether riding or spectating wear appropriate footwear.  If your child is in a lead rein lesson and you will be taking part with your child this is especially important.  Footwear should be a full shoe style (not open-toed), trainers are fine for leading and around the yard but will not be permitted for riding.

Your Lesson

When you come for your first lesson we ask that you try to get to us at least 15 minutes before your lesson is due to start. This will give you a chance to ask any questions that you may have.

You will also need to complete a Rider Registration Form which you will be given on your first visit.
